Activity: Snow kiting
Frantz Lake near Salida freezes over most winters, and I was told by some friends that it now got to 8-10" thick. We went for a walk around it, our son H. on a sled pulled by our dog. Wind was good, flowing in upper teens from the West, so we threw up the 3M trainer and I flew it around some. I then carried the sled upwind near the edge of the lake, sat on it, and did number-eights in the power zone for a downwind run.
It worked well -- so then H. and I did two more runs, he loved kiting!
