Lake Dillon Marina snow kiting

Activity: Snow kiting

Winds were forecast to be in the 10-15mph range and so we braved the icy roads and drove up to Lake Dillon. Anton (from Colorado Kite Force) said that winds were better at the marina, and so we arranged to meet Scott over there. Winds were definitely stronger than what we expected.

Being somewhat obstinate I decided to take out my 11 meter foil kite with a hardboot board anyways. And I got spanked... Riding forward was easy and fun, but there was too much wind for me to figure out how to carve to toe and fly the kite at the same time, the gusts picked me up from the ground on the transitions.

We set up the 3 meter trainer and took turns flying it. Winds were stronger by then, and we were getting drug around on our butts!
